Bhubaneswar,6/8 : 1 Odisha Girls Battalion NCC under Cuttack Group NCC conducted its Combined Annual Training Camp cum Thal Sainik Camp ( Girls) ଫାର୍ମ 28 Jul to 06 Aug 25 at ITER University Campus 4. Girl cdts from all three Groups ie Behrampur, Cuttack & Sambalpur attended this camp. Inter Group Competitions & selection for prestigious Thal Sainik Camp Delhi took place here and the best have been selected.Now they will be trained and despatched to Delhi to compete at National Level.
Opening Address was delivered by Col Sanjeev Dewan, Commanding Officer 1 Odisha Girls Battalion NCC. Lt Col RK Bal is the Deputy Comdt of the camp.
The aim of the camp was –
(i) To select and train cadets for Thal Sainik Camp Delhi and identify and shortlist cadets for Republic Day Camp New Delhi.
(ii) To provide the Essential Training to the Cadets and make eligible to appear in their ‘A’ ‘B’ & ‘C’ Certificate Exam.
(iii) To Develop Qualities of Character, Courage, Leadership, Discipline & To Instil a Sense of Adventure, Team Work .& Selfless Service for the nation.in order to make them better citizens.
Col Satyabrata Swain, Group Commander Cuttack, Chief Training Officer visited the campus on 30 Jul 2025 and inspected the training standards. He also addressed & motivated the cadets to give their best & bring laurels for Odisha. He also graced the Cultural Event and award ceremony on 05 Aug 2025 and awarded the TSC(G) winner’s trophy to Cuttack Group and Inter Group Shooting Trophy to Berhampur Group. Prof (Dr) Jyothi Ranjan Das ,Dean(Students Welfare) graced the event
and felicitated our cadets.
A power packed 10 days included events like Firing, Personality Development Classes, Map Reading, Drill, PT, Judging Distance, Field Signal, Health & Hygiene & Cultural programme The NCC cadets will now return more confident and empowered with Physical fitness, Knowledge and discipline. The camp was concluded on 06 Aug 25.
